The Rio Olympics are almost over and all the blood, sweat and tears seemed to pay paid off for most! Since we’re not really in the business of blood sweat and tears (although we can definitely appreciate all the hard work that goes into each Olympians body), we thought that we’d hold our own Olympics…BloomMe Style

The kings and Queens of Beauty- chosen by you! Beauty regimes has been around since the dawn of time and developed in different ways across the globe, so what better way to celebrate than to bring the world of beauty together for the beauty olympics.

Up first is Waxing!

From the USA we have the Hollywood Wax. The LA wax that strips away everything till you soar like a bald eagle. From Brazil we have the icon Brazilian Wax, which leaves just a strip or triangle of hair. Finally, we have India, who not only know about waxing but always make our brows on fleek with threading!

Next, Massages!

Massages are something that everyone needs. I’m sure even cave ladies came back from a hard day on the berry field and would need a good foot rub, so its no surprise that this category was especially hard to narrow down the finalists. From hot stone massages from North America, to Japanese acupuncture and French lymphatic drainage massages, the world is really saying that we need to relax. Here are our three finalists:

Thai massage– for a massage that also feels like yoga, so you’re limber and tension free. Swedish massage– a classic massage that’s popular with spa virgins by using 5 different strokes that soothe and melt away all knots and aches. Chinese Acupressure massage– a massage that uses specific pressure points on the body to relieve tension.

Go mad for manicures!

Given that we use our hands everyday for just about everything that we do, which is why the techniques and skills of manicurists are being perfected world round to keep our hands soft and our nails beautiful. So where in the world has created the biggest waves in manicures? The most obvious choice is the classic French Manicure, clear polish with white tips are unstated and everlastingly stylish, conversely there are also gel manicures that originate from Korea and Japan that have quickly become the new most popular style of nails. The key difference being that Japanese manicure focus on strengthening your nails. Which do you prefer?
