With the outbreak of coronavirus, we have all been living in fear since the start of 2020. When was the last time you pampered yourself? Do you show yourself love? Do you love your body? It’s time for us to step back and take note of how we take care of ourselves. Self-love is not always as easy as people may assume. So, here are 8 easy tips for how to indulge in more self-love this year. Trust us, you deserve it.

🥗 Nourish Your Body 🥑

You’ll want to fill your body with food that makes it thrive. Try to focus on eating less processed foods. Instead, go for more real nutrient-dense food like fruits, vegetables, lean protein, healthy fats, and natural sugars. Maybe try eating 5 small meals a day, instead of 3 bigger meals. Test your body out for intolerances, but cutting back on certain irritable food groups like: dairy, soy, and gluten. Most importantly, be sure to stay hydrated by drinking a lot of water. You’ll be able to feel the difference in a matter of weeks, if not days. The key is to radiate from the inside out. If you feel good inside, you’ll then also feel good outside.

Learn to Love The Skin You’re In

Ditch the negativity and self-hate. Remember, you can’t hate your way to loving yourself. Instead, try to focus on changing to a more positive mindset. It may take time, but the more you direct your thoughts towards loving yourself the more you’ll actually start to feel it too.

🏋️‍♀️ Get Moving 🏃‍♀️

Try to exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. You can start small, like say 3-4 days a week and work your way up from there. The worst thing to do is set unattainable goals for yourself. Instead, try to set smaller more manageable goals. Then, you’ll feel accomplished as you start to achieve them. You don’t need to go all out. It could be as simple as a walk or hike or as intense as a full-body HIIT workout or barre class. The choice is yours! Oftentimes, if you try new things, you’ll realise that exercising can be fun too. Find what works best for you and stick with it. Then, work up from there and increase the frequency. Remember, life is all about balance.

End Any Toxic Relationships

It’s okay to put yourself first. Anyone who makes you feel less than amazing or puts you down does not deserve to be in your life. Surround yourself with people that lift you up and encourage you. The people that make you feel like the best version of yourself are the ones to stick by.

Follow Your Passion ❤

It’s never too late to start. Of course, it can be scary to put yourself out there, but if you never try then you’ll never know. Stop telling yourself it won’t work and just go do it! There’s nothing more rewarding and encouraging than following what you truly love.

Write It Down ✍

Ever feel like your head is jammed full with millions of thoughts? Like it’s racing and giving you headaches? The best thing you can do is grab a notebook and write it all down on paper. No matter how crazy, sad, or silly your thoughts may seem, write it all down. Then, look back over it and either keep it, tear it up, burn it, or do whatever you want with it. Think of it as at-home therapy. You can let go of the bad and keep the good. And use it as a guide for where you are and where you want to be.

Find Something To Be Grateful For Everyday 😌

Learn to appreciate the small things in life. We all have both good and bad days, despite what you may see on social media. We are all human after all. Especially on the bad days, try to find at least one thing you are grateful for. This will help shift your mind to a more positive energy.

Find Your Happy Place 🤗

Whether it’s at home cuddled up with Netflix, at the spa, or at your favourite restaurant, find your happy place where you feel totally calm and at ease. Where’s that one place where you always go to feel good? Remember that feeling and imagine yourself there during hard times. Think about what it feels like, what it looks like, what it smells like. Close your eyes and breathe. Take yourself there to your happy place.

Pamper Yourself Regularly 💆🏻‍♀️💆🏻‍♂️

We all know that massage can help relax both body and mind. but there are different types of massage that can achieve the effect of detoxification. The most noticeable is the lymphatic massage, which can promote blood circulation, help detoxification, edema etc. What’s more, hot stone massage can also help remove toxins from the body.
